Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) is a non-profit Christian organization committed to feeding God’s children hungry in body and spirit. The approach is simple—children and adults hand-pack meals that are specifically formulated for malnourished children. The meals are then shipped to nearly 70 countries around the world.
To best meet their goals, Feed My Starving Children partners with other faith-based and humanitarian organizations within the community. In March 2010, in recognition of this unique opportunity to provide a practical and meaningful service project to the members of our parish, The Circles of Claddagh, a women’s ministry group at St. Patrick Catholic Church, began organizing volunteers to pack meals once a month at the FMSC location in Coon Rapids, MN. This joint ministry is an excellent way to unite volunteers from our parish with other individuals and groups in the community that share a desire to spread the love of Christ by responding to His call to feed the hungry.
Volunteers for this ministry are needed on the last Friday of each month to serve during the first shift from 9:30-11:30 AM and/or the second shift from Noon-2:00 PM. There are some volunteer guidelines and restrictions, and due to health concerns, FMSC requests that volunteers stay home when ill.
Volunteers may register online at Feed My Starving Children—(Join An Existing Group: Group Name “Patrick”)—or call Jacqueline at 763-208-4725. Parishioners who volunteer are encouraged to invite family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues to serve as well.
